Board game

Yujin no Furi Furi Girl is a fantasy board game by U-Jin and POW (Planning Office Wada). Up to four players can play against each other and try to retrieve the key hidden in each board. The four playable characters are all young and cute girls (hence the game's title) and they all seem to fight their way to heaven. In a nutsellf, Yujin no Furi Furi Girl is like any traditional board game - gamers simply roll the dice and move the amount of spaces that the dice tells them. If the player happens to land on another player's tile, a battle is triggered. However, do not expect to see any weapons, magic spells or anything of the sort here. Instead, each player go through a Rock Paper Scissors battle, and the loser gets thrown to the dark and malicious side of the board. Yujin no Furi Furi Girl offers all sort of interesting features such as monsters wandering around the board or strange mini-games.

Digital board games, beside maybe Monopoly, are not very popular in the west. Many players just do not see the point of rolling a digital dice to move their avatar around a digital board. Although I understand their point, especially after looking at what today's technology is capable of, I wished this genre happened to be a bit more popular here as it was in Japan during the 8bit/16bit era. Yet, we had strategy games such as Sim City or Populous, but nothing like Japanese digital board games. Anyway, back to Yujin no Furi Furi Girl. Here we have a simple board game and, despite its attempt to surprise the player with interesting twists and features, just fails to combine all of the elements together in a good manner. All in all, a really average title.
