Only a handful of games were especially developed for the American
market and the TurboCD system (US version of the PC Engine CDRom system).
The Addams Family is one of these games - it is a side scrolling action games based on
the movie released in 1991 and it features all the wacky characters
from the old black and white
television series aired in the 1960's. The player takes control
of Tully Alford who Gomez Addams has promised
all his treasures - most of the game's action takes place in the family's
goofy mansion and our hero goes
through countless hazards and must defend himself
using his only weapon - a grey umbrella.
The game is also designed
like a movie theater and an audience can be seen at the bottom of the screen,
watching Tully's every moves and actions.

mansion. Get ready for Lunch's platter of horrors, and don't expect
Thing(TM) to lend you a hand. Demolish each crazed contraption in
the wacky torture chamber and the chemical arsenal in Pugsley's
diabolical lab. Challenge Fester's memory for a clue, but don't

I do not know what to say about this game. It is terrible, bland,
boring, ugly and the list just goes on and on. I always thought
it was a convertion of Ocean's Addams Family available for
the Super Famicom and other computers such as the Amiga - it would
have been ace as Ocean's game
is a funny and colorful platformer. But no, I was wrong, this version was
especially developed by ICOM Simulations for the TurboCD
(they also released games like Ghost Manor and
Beyond Shadowgate) - and it stinks. I'm usually good and rarely give a game such
a bad score - my advice is just to avoid this game at all costs.
